French Intermediate Course

Have you already got the basics? Is your French a little rusty? Have you been getting by but want to feel more in control?

This is for learners of French who have made a good start but don't necessarily feel they have!
We will polish up your pronunciation and ensure you can communicate about what has happened in the past and
what is going to happen in the future.

Breaking ground

  • Review your basics, tidy up bad habits, etc.

  • Identify gaps in knowledge and address them: build up your vocabulary.

  • Pronunciation is key to understanding and being understood - let's get you sounding French.

Work on your flow

  • Work on keeping conversation going: feel comfortable asking and answering questions.

  • Understanding French at natural speed in different registers: chatting to the baker, interviewing for a job, dealing with officials, etc.

  • Start thinking in French when you speak, speed up your delivery.

Language Tool Box

  • Develop understanding of more complex structures.

  • Use adjectives and adverbs to add extra interest.

  • Get confident with pronouns to sound more natural.

  • Make longer sentences, using linking words.

I believe that learning in a small group is the most effective way and helps students realise that they are not alone in their challenges. Working with others albeit online helps with motivation and also makes it more fun. We do learn and laugh a lot!!
