French Starter Course

I think nearly all would-be speakers of French have already picked up quite a lot of words: croissants, prêt à manger, artisan. My aim is to help you speak and understand 'grown-up' French, which is possible whatever your age and ability, if you have the courage to try!

YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE!

My group lessons enable you to deal with everyday situations that you might face in France. I cover topics ranging from the weather, protecting European bees from Asian Hornets to what to do at the scene of a car accident. I have developed a Language Tool Box to enable you to use correct French without having to learn the all the grammatical rules. When in France you are not only battling the language barrier but are also dealing with a new system for just about everything. That is what makes it exciting...if a little overwhelming at times!

Dealing with the French authorities

  • Learn how to give your personal details, to complete forms, to make appointments, etc.

  • Find out about the French Healthcare System and know what to do in an emergency, etc.

  • Get to grips with French Driving Laws and know how to deal with an accident in France.

  • Share experiences with Border Control and Customs.

I believe that learning in a small group is the most effective way and helps students realise that they are not alone in their challenges. Working with others albeit online helps with motivation and also makes it more fun. We do learn and laugh a lot!!
